However, there are a legtimate sub-set of mutilations that occur that really need investigating since they cannot be explained by predators and other natural causes. The problem is, like with other things that have a fringe media reputation, legitimate law enforcement and medical examiners refuse to deal with this issue because of the career-killing stigmatism associated with the phenomena.
