In this painting of the Madonna , a man is in the background pointing to a UFO. The "UFO" is a ship in the lake not a ship in the sky. The perspective in the painting is off, which happened in 15th century artwork. One's world view can also put perspective out of whack. By they I assume you mean the so-called ETs. If you look beyond our limited, modern interpretation of UFOs you will find they have been here since mankind. IMHO I think the evidence shows these beings are the same ones referred to as "fallen angels" in the ancient texts, including the cannonical Bible and the very interesting Book of Enoch. They are not representations of actual events or objects seen in the sky. This is why such symbols are not widely seen in Asian or other regional art.
