Ghost in the Machine – Tracing Spiritual Darkness and High Technology

Technology by itself is not evil. Lifesaving and life extending technologies are truly a blessing from God, who created all things. Technology brings all the benefits of modern comfort, medicine, and communication.
However, like so many things, technology is a tool that can be used by dark forces, both human and otherwise.
Many don’t think technology and the spirit world have a relationship. The rationalistic, materialistic view that still dominates our age considers the spiritual world to be just myth while technology is rooted in the hard facts of the scientific world. However, technology and spiritual dimensions have a longtime historical association. This technological-spiritual connection is as old as the bronze and iron ages, was furthered in a big way during the 20th century, and is being even more developed in the emerging technologies of this 21st century.
Metallurgy and Magic, Renaissance Occultic Science
Going back to ancient times technology, most notably metal forging, was associated with spiritual power.
Magic and science have been intertwined throughout human history. Many Vikings were pagans who worshiped their weapons and even believed a sword could help a warrior enter heaven. NOVA – Secrets of the Viking Sword 10/10/2012, PBS
From the pagan roots, the metallurgical/spiritual connection develops into a full blown techno-magic in the form of Alchemy during the Middle Ages. This esoteric religion saw no boundary between the spiritual world and the use of technology to achieve its ends of occultic knowledge. This relationship brought a new child into existence that would evolve into modern science. Esteemed historian Francis Yates deals head on with the rise of science and technology paired with the occult. She traces the occultic exploration of the Renaissance Rosicrucians in developing science when she notes:
This sense of close contact with angles or spiritual beings is the hallmark of the Rosicrucian. It is this which infuses his technology. Yates, Francis. The Rosicrucian Enlightenment. Routledge, 1972 (Page 282).
Nazi Techno-Occult
By the 20th century the rise of technology took a darker turn in it’s historical association with the occult. This can especially be seen in the emergence of Nazi technology. Despite the recent scoffers, there is ample evidence that Nazism maintained a strong occult spiritual connection, while at the same time forging the most advanced technology the world had every seen in the form of ballistic missiles, jet aircraft, and even more exotic technologies. Janes Aviation reporter and historian Nick Cook notes a sense of spiritual darkness as he tours the Nazi underground factories that housed super-secret exotic technologies:
I walked the galleries beneath the Kohnstein, I found the silence deeply troubling. I’d wanted to concentrate on the science and engineering, to look at the Mittelwerk as a place that had been responsible for the most awesome piece of technology to have come out of Europe during the war; to breathe the same air as those who’d created the A-4 rocket’s assembly line, to soak up that atmosphere in the way that a profiler would use a murder scene to build a picture of the killer. Dark Technology Crosses the Atlantic
Following World War II, the United States snatched up German technology and scientists, including the Wener Von Braun, the father of the Saturn V moon rocket, still the heavy lift champion of spaceflight. Interestingly, along with this advanced technology transfer the occultic association with this technology came to our shores. In the late 1940s and early 1950s, Rocket scientist Jack Parsons, who helped found NASA’s JPL and developed solid rocket booster technology was also a prominent Thelemite occultist.
Parsons was certainly ahead of his time in things other than rocketry. Before each test launch, he was in the habit of invoking Aleister Crowley’s Hymn to Pan, the wild horned god of fertility. Parsons was an active member of the California Agape Lodge of the sex magickal group Ordo Templi Orientis (OTO), and in letters addressed The Great Beast as “Most Beloved Father”. Colin Bennett. Transhumanism and Artificial Intelligence
The holy grail of 21st century computer science is the development of artificial intelligence (AI). AI is here now: there is the reality of self driving cars, advanced autonomous drones, and supercomputers with enough smarts to win the gameshow Jeopardy. These machines, that seem to possess a natural language intelligence, are key to solving problems in medicine, transportation and the energy sector.
True to form, the occultic side of things is involved in this AI movement, seeking to exploit the darker dimensional potential. Computer scientist and futurist Ray Kurzweil is the spokesperson for a movement that seeks to transcend the biological limitations of humanity via immortality through computer consciousness. As Director of Engineering at Google, Kurzweil is not a lightweight, but is poised to have a big impact on the rise of machine intelligence. At the turn of the 21st century, Kurweil’s book “The Age of Spiritual Machines” was followed by “The Signularity is Near” predicting the creation of a God-like machine network: a supra-intelligent consciousness that elite humans can merge with to gain immortality. As some others have pointed out, this Transhumanistic movement is an occultic esoteric religion.
He said to Eve- “You can be like God”
So where is this technological Magick all taking us? Well, in essence this is taking us back, back to the original lie presented to humans by the dark fallen angelic being in Eden.
Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die.”“For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.
Gen 3:4-5
In my opinion. technology is being used by certain fallen, inter dimensional angelic beings as part of their driven hatred to destroy humanity. Specifically, I feel technology is used as a carrot of deception to deceive humans into thinking they can bypass God’s redemption and become immortal via their own devices. As the Biblical tree of knowledge demonstrates, it is lie designed to in fact destroy humans by separating them from their creator, God. Thankfully, Christ Jesus presents a true way to immortality that does not depend on occultic technology.
In the next decades you will see the rise of Transhuman technologies that will promise transcendence, but I feel will produce darkness and terrible weapons. It is unfortunate that the tools of genetic engineering and artificial intelligence will be leveraged by a non-human dark spirituality that is in opposition to God. Bible prophecy in John’s vision in the book of Revelation presents a weird future of non human creatures that seem right out of science fiction, but I believe are coming in reality. Knowing the dark use of technology, it is no wonder Christ will return to prevent the utter destruction of humanity by this Pandora’s box of spiritualized technology.
