A Divided Kingdom – Finding Hope in National Judgement

Back in 2013, I posted “A New Civil War is being Engineered.” Back then I observed because United States has departed from God, the nation was in the process of dividing, and an eventual civil war appeared likely. As I write this in early 2023, there is an accelerating division in all aspects of national life – social, political, economic, relational, and spiritual.

This pattern of division following a national departure from God is not new. Let’s dive into what this may mean, and, amazingly, in this we’ll find hope!

Why and How does God Typically Judge Nations?

First, it’s important to understand the loving character of God. When God judges individuals and entire nations he does not relish punishment, but widespread, nationalized sin causes untold suffering and God will mercifully put an end to sin by allowing judgement upon a nation.

With individuals, judgement does not necessarily mean receiving God’s direct wrath. Rather, God allows a person to reap the consequences of sin (speaking from personal experience, here). Likewise, when God judges a nation, he often allows the nation itself to be weakened under the consequences of corruption and poor leadership rather than a direct judgement via wrath such as a disaster.

God really delights to bless His creatures and to have fellowship with them, but the invasion of sin into creation has meant that He must exercise judgment, because He is not only love, but also light, absolutely holy, righteous, and good.

God’s Strange Work: The Judgments of Scripture – M C Davis, Leeds – Believersmagazine.com

The Bible provides the most detailed account of the judgement of nations. Most commonly, judged nations are overthrown or dominated by other nations, typically after bad leaders come into power.

For example, the nation of Babylon remained strong while king Nebuchadnezzar was on the throne, but a successor, the regent Belshazzar, was part of a weak and corrupt government, which hastened the overthrow of the nation by the Medo-Persian empire (Daniel 5:23-31).

Furthermore, the prophet Daniel predicted the eventual downfall of Persia itself which was eventually weakened by poor leadership and conquered by Alexander the Great.

National Division – A special kind of Judgement

There is a special type of national judgement that involves a division of the nation before an eventual domination by foreign powers. This type of judgement was reserved for God’s chosen nation. Around 950 B.C., Israel divided into two Kingdoms – the southern kingdom of Judah and the northern kingdom of Israel.

This division occurred after a long leadership decline driven by an increasing departure from God. Following the imperfect but Godly rule of King David, King Solomon grew the government and embarked upon expensive programs than demanded high taxes, while subtly introducing Solomon’s successor, Rehoboam, raised taxes even more, and sparked a revolt. Most of the nation split off into the north, while Judah and part of the tribe of Benjamin formed the southern kingdom with its capital remaining in Jerusalem.

Upon dividing, the northern kingdom fell into worshipping one of the darkest, most evil of the gods, Baal, and produced some of the most wicked leaders in the Bible, including king Ahab and queen Jezebel. The northern kingdom was more powerful than the southern kingdom, but because of its corruption, the north fell to the Assyrians around 721 B.C.

The southern kingdom’s account was mixed, with some excellent Godly leaders, such as king Hezekiah, but it also had some poor leaders. Despite being smaller and weaker than the northern kingdom, it lasted longer, but was eventually conquered by the Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar in 587 B.C.

The United States – National Division like Ancient Israel?

The United States once stood, and in many ways still stands, for good. The nation was founded by leaders, though not all Christians, who at least valued Biblical principles.

I propose, like the judgement of ancient Israel, we too are dividing as a nation as part of an overall judgement by God. During our first bloody civil war in the 1860’s we very nearly divided along moral and ideological lines. Since the 1960’s this nation has become increasingly divided again and now there are effectively two nations: one that embraces a pagan religion, racial and ethnic tribalism, and rejects God, and another that still holds, albeit imperfectly and weakly, to the original biblical concepts of freedom and liberty to all without regard to race, color, creed, or even religion.

Is there Hope for the United States?

Will we suffer the same fate as the divided nation of Israel and Judah? Only time will tell. However, the very fact we are dividing like ancient Israel is actually encouraging. Not all nations experience the judgement of division. The very fact the United States is dividing, with one part embracing radical paganism, and the other holding on to liberty, indicates there is a Godly remnant remaining.

In the case of Israel, even after the southern kingdom fell, God miraculously preserved the exiled remnant of the southern kingdom, and they eventually returned to the land from exile. I’m not saying the United States is on the same path as Israel, but I am encouraged that in our path to judgement, there is at least a remnant to be divided.

DryWind 2005 – 2022: Signs of the Return

I created DryWind.net back in 2005 to track geo-political and spiritual trends. While I knew prophetic trends were likely to increase in time, I had no idea they would be increasing so quickly. Now, looking back nearly twenty years later, it is truly sobering to see where we are.

However, I should not have been surprised. We are watching birth pangs! As mothers can attest, before the birth of a child draws near, contraction pains become more frequent and intense. So how does this relate to these geo-political and spiritual trends?

Two thousand years ago, before Jesus went to the cross to pay the penalty for our sin, his disciples asked him a question, “What will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” (Matthew 24:3). Jesus said that these signs that would come upon the world like a mother’s birth pangs as we get closer to His second coming.

While some would look at these trends and become frightened or depressed, these trends provide great hope if you’ve put your faith in Christ.

National Division and War

It pains me to see the United States more divided that it has ever been, in many ways even more than the Civil War of the 1860s. However, it is not only the United States that this seeing division, but the entire world, amplified by the Covid 19 pandemic and the resultant government overreach and mismanagement. But ultimately the reason for these division is a departure from God. Western culture has long left the God of the Bible in favor of self-centered materialism and nihilism and this spiritual vacuum is filled by destructive ideologies and culturally suicidal beliefs.

Two thousand years ago Christ looked to His future second coming and told his disciples one sign would that “nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.” The word for nation is ethnos from which came the modern term “ethnic group.” Within nations the conflicts of one people group against another are deepening.

This division runs contrary to God’s way, who through Christ welcomes all people to His Grace equally, no matter race, gender, ethnicity or economic status. The stark contrast between the peaceful righteousness of God and the sinful division of the world-system is waking many up to the truth of sin, and the forgiveness and hope of Christ.

Increase in Lawlessness

I have been writing about the growth of lawlessness and violence for these past decades, but the last few years we’ve seen a logarithmic growth, manifested by the coordinated and orchestrated unrest of the misnamed Black Lives Matter and the anarchist, racist “Antifa” terrorists who plague urban areas across not just the United States, but many western nations.

Compounding this lawlessness is a lack of leadership at all levels of society, from federal, state, and local government to the woke boardrooms of Wall Street, who placate and promote racist groupthink driven by leftist thuggery and blackmail.

Jesus’s own words encourage us to see this growing lawlessness as sign of His return.

“And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.”

Matthew 24:12-14 NKJV

Increase in Antisemitism

While all racism is evil, Antisemitism’s particular brand of racial hatred is so dark, it reveals a direct Satanic source. For example, during World War 2, the Nazi effort to exterminate Jews had the highest priority, even when Germany was losing the war.

Why the Jews? There is an irrational hatred of Jews over the millennia that points to the powers of darkness and their desired to destroy the people from which the Messiah Jesus Christ came.

Antisemitism has been around for thousands of years, but the rebirth of the state of Israel in 1949 was a catalyst for a new brand of Antisemitism in the 21st century that is institutionalized in churches, mosques, universities, and trans-national organizations like the United Nations. Antisemitism, that after the Holocaust of World War 2 was roundly condemned, is now once again on the rise.

Increase in Unexplained UFO and Paranormal Phenomena

While the subject of UFOs is full of kooks and hoaxes, there are a significant percentage of sightings by reliable, trained observers that cannot be explained. By definition this unexplained phenomena is supernatural; it manifests in ways that defy physics and appear to be trans-dimensional.

Since 2005, UFOs gone from a fringe “X-Files” subject to a core part of the news. In 2017 the New York Times published an earth shattering series of stories on U.S. Military encounters with UFOs that continue to this day. Respected Navy pilots and officers came forth to verify these encounters with sensor and video footage that the Pentagon verified as authentic. With this revelation, the U.S. Congress is mandating new studies into this phenomena.

I believe a great deception is coming. It is very possible some truly unexplained UFOs are not “ETs” but rather terrestrial manifestations of extremely malevolent, highly advanced, multidimensional entities called fallen angels. As we approach the prophetic events predicted by the Bible, these arch-enemies of Jesus Christ are going to do everything in their power, which is considerable, to deceive people away from believing in God and salvation through Christ.

There is Hope!

While it’s easy to look at any one of these signs and either react with fear or despair, Christ reminds us:

“Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.”

Luke 21:28 NKJV

For those who simply ask Christ for forgiveness trust in in Him as their savior, these signs are actually an encouragement. No person knows the exact time when Christ will return, but we can see the would is going exactly the way He said it would. So keep reading, as I’m certain as the years go by you’ll see even more Signs of His Return.

A New Civil War is being Engineered

January 10, 2013 by

piers-morgan-alex-jonesThe divided elections and the angry fist waving debates tell a story.  America is moving towards civil war.  But in this case the war seems planned.  The pitting of great ideological and moral divisions are carefully positioned and thrown in a ring like two starved animals.  The goal is simple:  a divided America is no longer a world player and the last hurdle in the way of global government is taken out.  The gun grabbers gear up while the gun keepers consider the “R” word and patriotism becomes a fight for states’ rights and regionalism.

What’s behind this?

  1. America has departed from God.  The Judeo-Christian ethic has been out for a long time.
  2. Dark multidimensional forces have been allowed into this vacuum. Demonic possession is rampant and driving the very gun violence driving the gun grabbers.  Part of the plan.
  3.  All human created civilizations have a life span.  America is not immune from the same moral and cultural entropy that doomed Greece and Rome.

This war is not certain.  Our path could change.  With prayer and God’s grace, the Republic could be saved.   But as we turn our backs on God, the path towards division is becoming more intense everyday.

The Longing

January 1, 2010 by
Filed under Christ, Features, UFOs and Bible Prophecy

The modern world has done its best to try to deny the existence of God.  In the western world, the Judeo-Christian ethic has been largely marginalized.  Yet despite this a longing remains for many people, who are discovering that no amount of money, drugs, or momentary pleasure can satisfy a desire for something more- a greater reality beyond this all-too-short life.

With the God of the Bible no longer acceptable, the longing is pushing many towards a worship of the alien: a belief that benevolent, helpful otherworldly creatures with superior technology will pull humans out of the pit they have dug for themselves.

UFO religions are well documented, and are only increasing with time.  The most recent of these religious movements is guised in the “exopolitic movement,” whose goal is to “out” the existence of a so-called benevolent extraterrestrial intelligences.  The goal is not objective and scientific, but is the harbinger of a spiritual movement for “earth transformation.”

In my opinion (and I welcome dissenting views), while these UFO religions will indeed result in spiritual experiences, they will not produce the legitimate peace that only God through Christ can provide. The reason is that this expolitic religion is tied in with an age-old practice of worship of non-human intelligences who are absolutely deceptive and opposed to God.   Wrapped in a costume of light, these entities can only provide fleeting emotion and spectral titillation , but cannot duplicate the eternal salvation and lasting internal peace available through faith in Christ, God’s only son who died and resurrected for all who choose to accept his free gift.

Lawlessness Revealed

November 22, 2008 by
Filed under Features, Politics, War and Economics

Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction.
2 Thessalonians 2:3 (NIV)

It is said in the Bible that the Earth was filled with violence in the days of Noah.  Jesus said the end times would be like the Days of Noah.

The signs of increasing violence and lawlessness are now apparent for even the skeptic to see. True, the world has always seen areas of horrible violence; wars, genocide.  However, in the last 100 years, violence has grown exponentially, even compared to the bloody past.  Now, even areas once considered “safe” are not immune. Here’s just a few examples.

Children as Targets

In the growing violence of Mexican drug wars “hitmen from Mexico’s drug gangs are breaking traditional codes of honour by killing children, in a chilling new chapter of a narcotics war that President Felipe Calderon is struggling to control.” (The Age)  School shootings are a continuing plague that has affected American and even highly controlled European suburbia.  Russian dictator Vladamir Putin used the terrorist hostage massacre of Russian schoolchildren in 2004 to consolidate his power.

The Rise of International Gangs

MS-13 is not just a dangerous street gang, but they represent an international terrorist sub-culture steeped in open Satanic worship.  From Alaska to South American, gangs like MS-13 have spread like a virus, there is no corner of the western hemisphere where this gang and its clones are not involved in brutal violence and crime.  If the U.S. enters a period of civil unreset due to ecomonic conditions and terrorists attacks, watch for these gangs take control of vast urban areas.  Refer to this documentary.

Terrorism

The growth of terrorism is apparent to all, and it has been steadily growing in power and scope. No longer content with hijacking and hostage taking, terrorism in the 21st century attacks the infrastructure of entire nations. From destroying massive skyscrapers in New York to taking over major sections of huge cities like Mumbai, this force is eroding at the very foundation of freedom.

Piracy

Now that pirates have seized one of the largest oil tankers in the world, people are noticing a problem that has really has been growing for the last several decades.  These high-tech bloodthirsty pirates take their booty and feed back into international terrorism and criminal networks.  All busy shipping lanes  are fast becoming targets for this scourge. No longer limited to areas like Somalia, or Southeast asia, these pirates are a new bluewater criminal navy with high tech resources and deadly modern firepower.

The Man of Lawlessness

This all is a prelude to a coming world leader who will have a false answer to an unprecendented growing level of violence and war. This man will be a false-Christ and people will look to him for hope.  Let me go on the record to say I do not think president elect Obama is this man, but I think the irrational, unbridled worship that people directed towards Obama is but a tiny hint of the worship they will direct to the man.

The Real Answer

The real answer to this violence is Christ.  Christ will return to this earth someday, and it is only He that offers both personal and International peace.
